Each of the wines that make up the Tawny are aged individually for at least 3 years. The result is a blend marked by intense aromas of spices and dried fruit. For Tawny wines with an indication of age, which have a more complex and structured profile, the average ageing time in barrels is stated.

Port Wines - Single Harvest

The portuguese word ‘Colheita’ means harvest and Colheita Port is a tawny Port from a single harvest. Rather than being blended to a house style, Colheita provides a taste of a particular year and should represent its characteristics and maturation process. Colheita ports are normally aged for long periods of time, 8 years being the minimum allowed.

Port Wines - Late Bottled Vintage

The beauty of time is that we can use it to our advantage. Port wine turns back the clock and, while it gains from prolonged aging, it also reveals itself perfectly in profiles that are less marked by wood and can be consumed almost immediately. LBV - Late Bottled Vintage is an example of this. Produced annually with blends from just one harvest, it is aged in large casks for between 4 and 6 years before bottling.

Port Wines - Vintage

For many, it is the ex-libris of Port wine. The result of a year of exceptional quality in viticulture, this is an exclusive wine, produced in small quantities. It perfectly portrays the vintage and the terroir from which it descends, usually enhancing its freshness and exuberance with multiple sweet layers, seduced by intense notes of dark chocolate. This is a wine with enormous ageing potential, distinguished by its exception at different stages of its life.

Pink Port, the latest style of Port, is made in the same way as a traditional rosé wines with the free run juice from the first pressing of the grapes.
